Snippet Sunday

Here is a snippet from a current WIP. This short story is about the repercussions when Tyler breaks up with Gemma's by sending Rachel -the new girl on the block- to pass on the message.

A movement in the cave entrance caught her attention.  A spider scurried round its web every time a rain drop landed on it. Poor spider, she thought, fooled by the rain, just the same way she’d been fooled by Tyler.

Perhaps he’d come looking for her. Her heart thudded in anticipation then resettled at its normal pace. Of course he wouldn’t.  Why would he tell her parents he wanted to speak to her?  The newbie, what was her name… Rachel, had made a point of telling her Tyler asked her to pass on his message…

She's not in a very confident frame of mind, is she?

This is interesting---what's the premise?

Thanks for coming by Sarah, and pointing out I forgot to add a short summary of the story. All done now. :-)

Maybe Rachel wants Tyler for herself and made it up?

Interesting. I'm curious as to why she's in a cave and why he told her parents he wanted to speak to her. I hope you'll post more excerpts from this.

She gotta forget Tyler, sending another girl to break up for him... what the hell?

Thanks Linda. Not so much ignore Tyler as recognise spite when confronted with it :-0
