Tuesday Tales - love

Thank you for dropping in to read this week's TUESDAY TALES
This week's prompt is 'Love'

“Don’t forget to turn the magazines face down when you put them back, especially the TV program magazines.” Sally, on her way to stack the shelves with her armful of boxes of little cakes reminded the newest member of staff.
The magazine suspended midway between the shelf it came from and the countertop, she cast Sally a puzzled glance “What?”
With an equalled puzzled look the customer added her own query. “What is so important that they must be turned upside down?” She watched the interplay between the long-time and newest member of staff.
“Jennifer,” Sally answered, referring to the shop owner, “does not like to know what is going to happen in the soaps next week when she hasn’t seen them all yet this one.” The slightest shift of one shoulder revealed more than her explanation.
Why, the customer wondered would someone with a busy and fulfilling job watch every soap going.? The odd one she could understand, just. But all of them?
Not a lover of soaps herself, she found it hard to understand what sometimes bordered on the obsession some people showed towards the programs. She could understand the writers and directors’ using the program to put across many ongoing and prevalent issues facing people, but the constant bickering that seemed counter-productive to the customer.
“She loves them.” Sally said.
“Oh.” Not one to watch much TV at the best of times, the customer decided silence was the best strategy and concentrated on digging out the money for her purchases.
Each to their own.
With a smile to the newcomer she passed several coins over and put her purchases away, wondering why she had put her TV program magazine face down in the bottom of her bag!

This reminded me of my outing yesterday afternoon with my Sister after we went to the Dr, we stopped by the cake supply shop and this exact scene was going on at the counter! LOL

You've cleverly captured another amusing little foible. I've never been one for soaps -- but some people are obsessed by them.
