As always, my thanks to all of you who stop by and read my efforts. I appreciate your company. I particularly appreciated the comments last week
This week I am again posting six sentences from my current WIP, which I forgot to mention last week is my first dip into Regency Romance. For this week's offering I have gone back to an earlier chapter where the heroine's brother is critising her behaviour.
“You are such a fussbudget, Freddie. No one takes any notice of a woman riding alone when she’s widowed.” Deborah Stavely offered a serene smile in her brother’s direction, well knowing how much it would infuriate him.
Frederick Dalrymple, the fifth Lord Worth, frowned down at his sister. “And you are misinformed, madam,” he snapped. “I have it on good authority you are becoming the talk of the locals.”

Uh oh, busted by bro! lol Glad she doesn't put up with his nonsense.
Ah-oh. Gossip rears its ugly head. Great interaction between these characters showing affection and sibling strife.
Just because widows had a bit more freedom doesn't mean they couldn't get themselves talked about! She'd better watch out; big brother's censure isn't the only thing to be afraid of. Great six!
Nice Six...love the sibling spat and the brother being so brotherly...lol
Great six! Thanks for sharing.
Nothing like getting busted by your sibling. Sucks when that happens. Nice six!
Yikes! Sounds like her brohter is on her case now and won't let go! :) Can't wait to see how she worms her way out of this
It would never do to become the focus of gossip in those days. It could haunt the rest of her life. A 'gentleman' would never want her after that. But maybe she doesn't want a gentlman...
very nice six!
Great six, Sherry. I love that she's unaware she's causing a scandal.
Oh, how I love a scandal! Fab six!
(Sorry about the deleted comment! It was the same comment I left, but I didn't meant to post from blogger, LOL.)
Ah, this is why I love Regency stuff. You don't much for drama.
Brothers should be not seen or heard, even if they are of the peerage
LOL Cate, thanks for coming by.

Sarah, thanks for coming by. At least you managed to leave a comment. At least half-a-dozen sites I've visited tonight either 'eat' my comment or wouldn't let me in to comment at all. I don't know what has changed in the last few weeks. Never used to have these problems.

Oh Lindsay :-) I love your comment! And no I won't tell mine what you said. LOL
Brothers can be so annoying. I love that she sets out to purposely anger him. That's what a sisters job is, isn't it? Great six!
Ooo, I wonder what they are saying about her?!
Love Regencies! Can never get enough!
Of course it's a sister's job to annoy her brother, Piper :-)
