HUMP DAY HOOK is a blog hop where each participating author posts ONE paragraph from a WIP (work in progress) or finished book each Wednesday. This gives readers an opportunity to sample different author's work and perhaps even find a new-to-you author.
I am continuing from where I left of last week, and - because I'm aiming for speed here, my 'paragraphs are very short so I am cheating a teeny bit so the action makes sense.
This woman was enticing him to risk a pass on her lunge. To do that would dismiss his height advantage. Not that his height gave him anything more than a split second of time.
She
lunged again, moved to his left, to his right and stepped forward.

Nice descriptions x Short but snappy. I like it x
Great descriptions. Short and to the point. I could see it clearly.
Ah, this is more fencing, right? I think you might have jumped a little further on in your MS and snagged something with a bit more emotion. Action is great, but with only a short passage to work with, it's hard to get enough action to snag a person. I'm sure this, with the 2-3 paragraphs before and after would have me salivating for the entire book.
I'm really enjoying this scene! Always a great hook, as I want to know the end result. :)
I'm enjoying the action and his amazement that she might just best him. He has to think fast. :) Great hook!
