Tuesday's Tales ~ Heart

Welcome to Tuesday's Tales

This week is my last offering from my recent WIP The Magpie Chronicles (which I submitted a few days ago) and is from the short Regency story  which is the ninth part of the Chronicles and this scene is part of the opening scene and is from Abby's POV

She’d made her choice, set her path and intended to stick to it without thought or further consequence to her family.

“My lord, the Viscount of Renwick.” Molly announced with a flourish and stood aside to let the visitor enter.

The breath lodged in Abbey’s throat, and shock set her knees to jelly when her visitor appeared. The one man her heart desired and the only man beyond her reach. Because he was the son of the man her brother had tried to force her to marry. What on earth was St.John Renwick, eldest son and Lord Morden’s heir, doing here, and how had he discovered her location so quickly?

Edward, of course. Her brother was not a man to miss an opportunity that would benefit him while giving no regard to the cost of others. And Abby wouldn’t put it past her brother to enlist his chosen brother-in-law’s son to further his case for him.

“My lord.” She rose, lowered her eyes and made the briefest of curtsies. It went against the grain to offer him a seat, but manners over-ruled her irritation. “It is indeed a surprise to see you here.” She refused to imply she welcomed his company. StJohn may be the handsomest man she’d ever encountered… Indeed, until she knew of his relationship to Lord Morden, she’d allowed her heart to dream. More fool her.

Thank you for reading this week's offering,
there are lots more amazing reads at

I love the intrigue you're weaving along with the golden threads of romance here. So what IS he doing there? Damn, now I have to wait to find out. I hope you're going to continue this because I'm pulled in already. Love this. Beautifully done.
