Six Sentence Sunday

As always, my thanks to all of you who stop by and read my efforts. I always appreciate your company.

Here is another snippet from my first short story, Precious Treasures, published in 2009 by LASR

No whisper of a successor to her reign as his wife.  No surprise there.  Sarah knew his mother would persevere with her quest to see off any potential threats to her reign in her son’s home with the same speed and efficiently as she had been dispatched ten years ago.

Would she use the same lies? ‘Another man, Jason.’ Shock had rendered her speechless when her husband believed and accused her of his mother’s innuendoes.

I hate this m-i-l already. It's going to take a lot to convince me that she should forgive this guy for siding against her. Great six. You obviously got a rise out of me :-)

Ooh, such a devious woman! Sarah has a battle ahead.

Mothers-in-law and step-mothers should be confined to the pages of Grimm's fairy tales. They can be witches of the first degree and this one seems to be at the top of her game. Great six for pointing that out.

Good excerpt here. I want to know what happened over the last ten years, and why Sarah is back. I agree with the other visitors here: mothers-in-law are the best incarnation of Grimm's witches and evil queens.

He needs to grow a spine. Hope she has better luck this time around, if that's what she wants. But his mother has to go!

I hate it when moms make trouble for their son's wives! She sounds like a bitch. I'm rooting for the wife and that she can teach the husband a little lesson before she takes him back!! Great six, you hooked me already.
