As always, my thanks to all of you who stop by and read my efforts. I appreciate your company.
This week I am taking a break from my short story Precious Treasures and posting six sentences from my current WIP
“You have today week to change your mind”
No signature, but she didn’t need one to know who’d sent it. Certainly not Brandon as the Butler claimed. Nor did she understand the reason for Ned Grainger’s chilling pursuit. She looked at the note again, ‘today week’, next Friday then.
If she didn’t agree to marry him by next Friday he’d do…what?

Yikes! What tension!
Some proposal! She needs to run!
Yikes... one week to...RUN!! It took me a few read throughs to figure out what today week meant, though. Is that oldy-worldy speak for in one week? It's what I guessed through context, anyhow. LOL
What will he do? Great six!
Great tension! Reminded me of the Sting song "Seven days was all she wrote, a kind of ultimatum note." Love it. Great job!
Great cliffhanger you've got going here
Does she need to take out a 'restraining order' on him? I would!
:-) Thanks for coming by Zee.
:-) Cate, running would make too easy, now wouldn't it?
JoAnne, thanks for pointing out your sticking point. I'll take it into consideration. Here, it means Friday today so Friday nest week, rather (next week = 7days)
He has several options, she has few. Thanks for coming by, Jennifer.
Thanks for that Jenna, and for your company.
Thanks Lindsay. :-)
Thanks for coming by Diane, (I hope to nip over to yours soon) For various reasons a restraining order would not work.
Good question. What WOULD he do? Great six! :)
Depending on how he develops, he could be a misunderstood suitor or a complete menace. Your six makes me want to know which. :)
Well written tension, you have me hooked.
I can't tell if he's the hero or bad guy. Nice tension.
I'm with Joanne, I don't know what "today week" means, but nice six!
Wow. A marriage threat!
I hope she says no so we can find out what he will do! Excellent six!
Thanks for coming by Siobhan Muir / Meg Palevich
:-) Thanks for your kind words, Alix.
Gem, he's a thoroughly 'bad lot'. LOL
Thanks for coming by Elaine. He's up to no good.
Sandra, thanks for your comment. I weigh up whether to re-wrtie that bit or not.
Taryn, thanks for coming by. I appreciate your visit.
Now Ana, would it be that simple? :-) Thanks for your kind words.
I got thrown by the 'today week' too.
Thanks for letting me know. I will definately look for an alternative way of saying 'same day next week' which sounds like a simple solution, but in this case I'm not sure it would work.
