For today's Sunday Snippet I'm starting a little ways into the beginning of a new WIP (working title Horseshoe 1)
Again I don't have names for my characters at this stage hence the 'he' and 'she.'

“There’s bears and wolves in them there mountains,”
the estate agent had prophesied with relish with so much relish when she paid
her deposit, she’d wondered whether he was deliberately trying to scare her
away.
Three years ago she’d lived another life. A life
full of love and laughter, of friendships and happiness. It took her a while to
find happiness here in her new home, but she’d found it. A quieter happiness,
hopefully more enduring and one that would keep her grounded in reality. A
happiness that never relied on others, and therefore could be snatched away
from her.
That's it for this week, :-) Thanks for coming by and you'll find lots more free-read snippets at Snippet Sunday

Great beginning! It really sets up the story and shows a lot about the main character. Nice snippet!

:-) Thanks Joyce.
Fantastic hook. Loved the entire set up and want to know more about her life and why she's living there. What drove her, in other words. I have a feeling there's a story there. :-) Great job!
Very nice setup :-)

:-) Thanks Sandra
Great set up for the story. Enjoyed the snippet.
I like the feelings in this snippet and felt so happy for her that she'd found a peaceful place, not even knowing any other details. Excellent excerpt!
I love this set-up, especially the description of her new life.
Thanks Michelle :-)
:-) Thanks Veronica
:-) Thanks Paula.
Great start! I have so many questions... I'm looking forward to reading more! :)
Ah...but happiness without risk soon grows boring. I doubt that'll stay the case for long.
